Magnolia Bakery Cupcakes

These are the cupcakes from the famous Magnolia Bakery in NYC. After going to New York this spring, I've been wanting to try these cupcakes for a while now. We saw the Magnolia Bakery when we were there, but were way to full from lunch at John's Pizza, and it was cold and the line was out the door, so we'll have to try the real thing next trip. I found these on a blog last month (if it's your … Read More

Rave: Running Skirts

So, I had this idea to do a weekly rave. Since this blog is about things I love (food, travel, photos, etc.) I thought I would try to post once a week about something that I love. It may be a product, restaurant, ingredient, attraction, etc. So, let me know what you think about this idea and we'll see how it goes. This week's rave is my new Champion running skirt. I'm fairly new to running, … Read More

Opening Ceremonies: Food From Around The Globe

My husband, Adam, had a great idea for our Sunday School Social this month (we are in charge of planning them). He suggested that we have an opening ceremonies party potluck, but with the condition that no one could bring American food. Everyone would bring food from all over the world. It was a huge success! We had great food, and had a wonderfuld time. Everyone got really creative with … Read More

OOPS!

So Friday I was running a tad late for my aerobics class at the YMCA. I saw a parking space that was a little tight, but decided to pull in anyway. Two seconds later, CRUNCH! Yep, I hit a parked car. I pulled in and got out to check the damage. The other car was barely scratched...but mine.,..my bumper was a bit dented and the head light cover scratched...gonna need a new one of those. So, … Read More

Peanut Butter Whoopie Pies

My husband was out of town the other night, and I was in a baking mood. I looked through several cookbooks and couldn't figure out what to make. I didn't want to go to the store, so it had to use ingredients I had on hand. Then I remembered that I came across these on a recipe search not long ago, and thought they would be a perfect thing to try and they could easily transport to treat my … Read More

Cafe Roma & Painting

Last weekend we went to eat a great local restaurant called Cafe Roma. It is so delicious! We have been wanting to try it for a while, but just kept forgetting about it. So, we finally went last Sunday after church and it was so delightful. It has a great atmosphere and the lunch prices are really reasonable, not to mention that the food is just phenomonal! I had the angel hair pasta with … Read More

Ham & Mushroom Pizza

We love pizza around our house, but it's so bad for you when you order out, so we decided to make a healthier version and it is so yummy! Adam asks for me to make it all the time! I use Ham & Mushrooms to keep the fat content down, pizza sauce, and 2% Italian Cheese blend. I use the 2 packets of dough you can buy that you just add water to. I mix it, then cover and let sit for 5 … Read More

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

These are the most amazing cookies! They are so addictive plus they are healthy! They are really good warmed up with milk-and I don't even really like milk! I got them from the So Fat, Low Fat, No Fat Cookbook and made a couple of changes. The original recipe is just a peanut butter cookie, but my husband had the great idea to add chocolate chips.   Low-Fat Peanut Butter Chocolate … Read More

New & Improved

So Sunday I had a mini breakdown about how I'm not great at deep cleaning. I can organize with the best of them, even thought of doing that for a living, but I am just not the best at mopping, vaccuming, scouring, etc. My husband is great at it, but doesn't have a ton of time to do it. Plus all of our cleaning supplies are old and do not get the job done, so Adam said I could get some new … Read More

Grillin’ It…well sort of

Tonight we were planning on grilling out, but it poured rain, so instead I roasted the corn and zuccini and seared the chicken on the stove. I think I like the corn better this way than on the grill! Corn: Olive oil, kosher salt & pepper to taste. Roast in 400 degree oven for 30 minutes. Turn every 7 to 10 minutes. Zucchini: Sprinkle with bbq grill seasoning and grated parmesan … Read More
