I got this wonderfully delicious cheeseball recipe from my mother-in-law. She is an amazing cook and this appetizer lives up to it’s name. I served it at my recipe swap last week and it was a huge hit! It’s creamy and also has a nice salty bite to it. Plus, all the ingredients were things I had on hand, so I could whip this up in a pinch for a quick appetizer.
Crowd Pleasing Cheese Ball
Source: My Mother-in-Law
Ingredients:
1 8oz. block cream cheese (I used fat free)
1/4 cup chopped celery
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/2 tsp. season salt
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans, plus extra for topping
Directions:
Soften cream cheese. Mix in celery, onion, season salt, & nuts. Roll into ball and cover with additional chopped nuts. Chill for several hours before serving with crackers. You can also just serve this in a shallow dish if you do not wish to roll into a ball.
Oh how fun! I’ve never made my own cheese ball before!
I have been wanting to make another cheeseball, maybe I will for a holiday party of some sort.
This looks great! I love the addition of walnuts.
I make this only I mix in a small cup of that prepared port wine cheese…gives it an extra punch.
