And the first sign of that: homemade chili. My mom has made this chili recipe for years. It has such a robust savory flavor, and you can fix it up just how you like it. Top it with shredded cheese and oyster crackers (my preference) or make a petro out of it with fritos, sour cream, lettuce, & tomato. We also sometimes serve it over tater tots, which we named ‘Chili Bobs’ because my step-dad Bob loves it that way so much. However you like to dress your chili, I am certain this recipe will leave your tastebuds dancing into the endzone with delight. Enjoy!
Game Day Chili
Ingredients:
2 lbs. lean ground turkey (or ground beef if you prefer)
1 tbsp. olive oil
1 medium onion (diced)
2 cloves garlic (minced)
2 cans Bush’s Best pinto beans (drained)
1 can Bush’s Best great northern beans (drained & rinsed)
1 can (large) tomato juice
1 can (small) tomato paste
4 tbsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
pinch kosher salt
1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
Directions:
Heat olive oil in skillet, add onions & minced garlic and saute until soft. Add turkey and brown. Drain through a fine mesh strainer so you don’t lose any of the onions. Pour turkey mixture into large dutch oven pot, and add all other ingredients. Simmer for one hour and serve with your toppings of choice.

Would it be okay to use tomato juice from a bottle from the juice isle? Or did you mean 1 can tomato sauce? This looks delicious and I am going to make it tonight!
yes using tomato juice from a bottle in the juice aisle is perfect. Hope you enjoy it!
